THE ANDY SMITH BAND AT DOWNTOWN ALIVE!

For 27 years, Downtown Alive! (DTA!) has united community and culture to create a weekly tradition and celebration in Downtown Lafayette every Fall and Spring. The Spring 2011 season kicks off March 11, 2011, with the Andy Smith Band. DTA! offers, once  again, great entertainment in the form of free, family-friendly, smoke free, outdoor concerts.  

For nearly a quarter century, The Andy Smith Band has performed on stages across the U.S. and abroad. The group first appeared on a Downtown Alive! stage on June 16, 1989, at the 700 block of Jefferson Street. This hometown favorite from New Iberia brings a variety of covers and has had Downtown Alive! crowds dancing and singing along during many performances.  http://andysmithband.com/

Sponsored by Cox Communications, Lafayette Coca-Cola and Lets Be Totally Clear, DTA! features performances by Grammy Nominated,  renowned and up and coming musicians representing a variety of genres ranging from Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Rock, Latin and more.  DTA! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions – musical performances from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
