Basin Arts is hosting an Art Bazaar as part of Downtown Lafayette's Small Business Saturday events and celebration!
Local artists are invited to sell artwork and second-hand art supplies at discounted prices and local vendors and artisans are invited to pop-up and sell their wares.
This event will give local artists the opportunity to clear out their studios and find a loving home for pieces they do not intend to exhibit, while offering members of our community the ability to start or expand their art collections at affordable prices. Additionally, it will provide a platform for artists and local crafters, artisans and vendors to connect and offer an inexpensive way for small business owners to sell their goods.
The Art Bazaar will be divided into two sections:
1) Artist Garage Sale, which will offer secondhand supplies and affordably priced works of art ($50 or under). The Artist Garage Sale area will be set-up in the Basin Arts parking lot (weather permitting).
Artists are invited to sell quality pieces which are not intended for gallery sale or exhibition, including: older or student work, studies, sketches, off-set prints, smaller works, slightly damaged pieces, or affordably-priced work. Second-hand art supplies include unused or lightly used items, such as: easels and taborets; unused or partially used paints, mediums, and inks; sculpting materials; drawing materials; unused canvasses and panels; fabric and notions; beads and beading supplies; sewing machines; knitting needles and yarn; frames and mat boards; books; and similar items. Vendors wishing to sell large items, such as studio furniture, should contact Basin Arts by email beforehand.
2) Creative Vendor Booth Space, to be rented by artists, artisans, and designers on an individual basis for the sale of original goods, art, clothing, and gifts. These booths will be set-up indoors at Basin Arts and will host handmade jewelry, vintage clothing, homemade candles and bath products, more complete/current works of art, stationary, etc.
