Church of the Sacred Ear is proud to present it's 11th concert, featuring Nutria!
Nutria is Byron Asher on sax, clarinet, and bass clarinet, Trey Boudreaux on bass, and Shawn Myers on drums. Named after the infamous South Louisiana swamp rat, Nutria performs genre-bending contemporary jazz compositions with an emphasis on collective improvisation. The trio's music creatively explores jazz, chamber music, and traditional music of the African diaspora and Eastern Europe, as well as the avant-garde, while staying true to New Orleans jazz and groove traditions. Nutria is kicking off their March tour with us. Do not miss it!
For 2018 Church of the Sacred Ear will be presenting our shows in various locations around Lafayette. This show is being held at the wonderful Lagniappe Record, in the heart of downtown. As always, this show will be filmed, recorded, and photographed. Grammy nominee Chris Stafford will be working the board, JD Mahoney will be filming, and LeeAnn Stephan will be taking pictures. The photograph for this month's flyer was also taken by LeeAnn Stephan.
This is a BYOB event. The doors open at 7pm and the music will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15. You can purchase tickets by following the link below to eventbrite.com.
