Downtown Alive! Street Party present Grand Nathaniel and The Ghosts

Sept. 22 | 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Downtown Alive! and Social Entertainment present Grand Nathaniel and The Ghosts on September 22nd with an original street party! The night will pay homage to DTA!s origins by throwing a party in the streets at the intersection of Congress and Jefferson. Many remember the times before Downtown had its great concert parks. DTA! got its start as a street concert, where people of all ages gathered to hear local musicians play. In preparation for the 35th Anniversary in 2018, DTA! is bringing back the feel and excitement of the original concert to once again blaze through designated areas on Jefferson St.

Grand Nathaniel and The Ghosts have a growing following of indie rock lovers in town. Now a four-piece with the addition of former FIGHTs member Brycen Gaddis, Grand Nathaniel & The Ghosts deliver a powerful live performance fueled by the influences of late 70s, New York alt disco like Liquid Liquid, Suicide, the post-punk tropes of Pylon and Polyrock and the heavier sounds of The Jesus Lizard, Dead Rider, and Trans Am.

Music kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with Lafayettes's own indie rockers The Shake Backs. They are a four-piece, indie rock-n- roll group with influences ranging from Dr. Dog to Mutemath. Their audience absorbs the enthralling energy exuded from every live performance.

Before the concert, and right after work ends for our Downtown employees, DTA! hosts Lafayette’s Happiest Hour. This week’s DTA! Happiest Hour will feature specialty drinks inside The Jefferson Street Pub from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The party will continue after DTA! with an “After Party” which will begin at Jefferson Street Pub.

To continue the new addition of DTA! Manger, patrons with an appetite can expect another lineup of local favorites. This week features delicious food vendors including Joy’s, Acadian Superette, and C'est Bon Manger Food Truck.

As a reminder – DTA! is funded through drink sales, so please leave your ice chests at home. Smoking and pets are not allowed to encourage a safe and family-friendly event for all.

Special thanks to our Urban Leader sponsors, Lafayette Coca-Cola, LUS Fiber, Potty Girl, Uber, Townsquare Media Delta Media Corporation andFestival International de Louisiane.
