DTA! presents Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band

Downtown Alive! (DTA!) welcomes Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band at Parc International on April 20th.

Grammy award winning Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band offer intense, high-energy party music. For the past 21 years, they have traveled nationally and internationally bringing their style of swamp funky zydeco party music to the world. A third-generation zydeco performer, Chubby remains true to his roots. A native of Church Point, Louisiana, Chubby still resides in the heart of Cajun country and mixes international touring with local concert and festival appearances, corporate and private engagements and youth outreach activities that share the history, evolution and significance of zydeco and Louisiana culture.

The party starts at 5 p.m. as DTA! hosts Lafayette’s Happiest Hour. This week’s DTA! Happiest Hour is hosted by The Jefferson Street Pub from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Check back with details about our Downtown Alive! “Official After Party” immediately following DTA!.

DTA! Manger continues this week where hungry concertgoers can expect another lineup of local favorites.

DTA! Kids begins at 5:30 p.m, provided by Childrens Museum of Acadiana. Additional activities include bungee jumpers, face painting, and more. Kona Ice and Pop-a-licious will provide treats for kids. Bring the family to enjoy a great outdoor event suitable for kids of all ages. Head over to Parc International and let us entertain the little ones! 

As a reminder – DTA! is funded through drink sales, so please leave your outside drinks at the bar. Smoking and pets are not allowed to encourage a safe and family-friendly event for all.
