DTA! presents Lane Mack & the Balladeers

Downtown Alive! kicks off the 35th anniversary season with LANE MACK & the Balladeers plus special guests Sweet Cecilia at Parc International on September 14th. New additions that will continue this fall are DTA! “Happiest Hour”, DTA! Kids, and DTA! Manger.

 

Born & Raised in Cajun Country, LANE MACK knows a thing or two about letting the good times Rock and Roll! He has graced the stage with numerous national recording artists such as Robert Randolph, Marc Broussard, and Royal Teeth. After competing on NBC’s “The Voice”, he continues to own the stage with masterful guitar licks and a vocal range that surpasses many.

Music kicks off at 6 p.m. with the all female, award-winning band,Sweet Cecilia, a family trio from Cecilia, LA. Their music is deeply rooted in country, rock, folk, and Cajun influences. Their three-part harmony is rich and sultry. These three women are not only accomplished vocalists, but also musicians and master songwriters. Their original songs will invoke tears, laughter, and joy. They keep the music fresh and modern, while holding on to their musical roots and traditions.

The party starts at 5 p.m. as DTA! hosts Lafayette’s Happiest Hour. This week’s DTA! Happiest Hour is hosted by Legends Downtown from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m and they’ll be offering frozen margaritas for $5 to thirsty patrons. The Downtown Alive! “Official After Party” kicks off with DJ RV and giant Jenga at Legends Downtown immediately following DTA!.

We continue the new addition of the DTA! Manger food scene where hungry concertgoers can expect another lineup of local favorites. This week features Pot & Paddle Jambalaya Kitchen Lafayette, La’s famous jambalaya!

DTA! Kids begins at 6:00 p.m, with free educational activities provided by the Children's Museum of Acadiana. Other entertainment includes MLR Magic showcasing their animal character balloons and face-painting. Make sure to grab a bag of popcorn also, we’ve heard Itz Pop-A-Licious! Bring the family to enjoy a great outdoor event suitable for kids of any age.

As a reminder – DTA! is funded through drink sales, so please refrain from outside beverages. Smoking and pets are not allowed to encourage a safe and family-friendly event for all.
