DTA! presents Pine Leaf Boys with Special Guests

Season's greetings! Downtown Alive! welcome Pine Leaf Boys at Parc Sans Souci, on Wednesday November 22nd for a special lighting of the Christmas tree and drive for Toy's for Tots!


Louisiana's finest, world-renowned Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for presenting their own inimitable brand of Louisiana music with youthful exuberance, blending the sounds of Cajun, Zydeco, Swamp-Pop, Country and Soul. Founded in 2005 in Lafayette, Louisiana, Pine Leaf Boys have garnered one Grammy® award (2012 Best Regional Roots) and four Grammy® Nominations, as well as six invitations from the U.S. State Department to present their music to 23 countries throughout Europe and Asia. New York Times described the boys’ music as “the link that connects the young and the old generations,” and Rolling Stone Magazine quoted, “the best new, energetic, and fun Cajun band in a very long time.”


The party starts at 5 p.m. as DTA! hosts Lafayette’s Happiest Hour. This week’s DTA! Happiest Hour is hosted by Artmosphere Bistro from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The Downtown Alive! “Official After Party” kicks off at Artmosphere Bistro immediately following DTA!.


The lighting of the Christmas Tree Downtown will take place at Parc Sans Souci at DTA!. Santa will be there taking photos with all the children. Bring a toy to donate for Toy's for Tots! U.S. Marine Corps will be present accepting donations.


Gumbo will be provided by The Acadian Superette. All proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots. Come hungry to taste the best gumbo in Freetown! Free gumbo tickets will be given for each toy donated.


DTA!kids begins at 5:00 p.m with face painting, ice cream, popcorn, and other fun activities at the Lafayette Science Museum. Bring the entire family for local food and entertainment.
