Support for Local Businesses and Artists

COVID-19 is already hurting local businesses and artists. Here’s how you can support others while practicing social distancing.

Musicians of Acadiana need our support

Event cancellations and bar and venue closures due to the coronavirus outbreak have already caused local musicians to lose out on income from lost gigs. Luckily, our community in Downtown has already stepped up to help these members of our community that are a huge part of what makes Downtown Lafayette so special. Gus Rezende of Social Entertainment has created a Facebook fundraiser for local musicians in partnership with the Acadiana Center for the Arts, The Current, and Downtown Lafayette Unlimited.

If you value the amazing musicians we have in Acadiana, please donate to the fundraiser.

If you are a full-time artist who has lost out on income because of coronavirus, you can apply for support through the fundraiser. Learn more.

DTA! House Sessions

Since 2020’s Spring season Downtown Alive! is canceled, our office is working on a way to bring live music to you via videos on social media. Stay tuned to this page and the Downtown Alive! Facebook page for more information.
