Poetry Readings with Benjamin Morris & Madeline Trosclair-Rotolo!
CHB Lafayette is welcoming Benjamin Morris, a native of Mississippi, and Madeline Trosclair-Rotolo, a local Lafayette poet, into the bookshop at 6 p.m. on October 23 to read from their poetry collections!
Benjamin will be reading from his collection, The Singing River, which thematically questions what can be saved in a place of shifting landscapes and ancient memory along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His debut collection meditates on the forces of nature that shape our notions of family and identity.
Madeline is joining Benjamin for the evening to read from her collection, Bottomlands, in which she manifests the Louisiana Gulf Coast and all its capacity for an environment experienced in full color. Wholly broken and often holy, _Bottomlands _is a debut collection by a poet as attuned to her own voice as to the beauties and dangers of the world around her.
Both poets will participate in an audience Q&A and sign their collections after the readings!
Pre-order your copies of The Singing River and Bottomlands by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 22 through Bon Temps Tix (linked in the bio)! Remaining copies will be available in the bookshop for the event!
Secure a ticket to this event on Bon Temps Tix – it’s free to attend, and we love a good headcount!
