Healing Arts Collective Film Series will be presenting The Blue Lormand Trilogy. Cite des Arts is hosting this event on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m., at 109 Vine Street in downtown Lafayette.   Richard Lormand made three short films in his hometown of Scott, LA. This part of his career came after working for Reuters and before becoming a publicist. These three films to be shown are: _Lagniappe, _which focuses on the innocent relationship between a grandfather and a grandson, and the language that they share. The humor, mischievousness, curiosity and love between the child and his grandfather allows their shared language to become the star of the film. _Coush-Coush _is the name of a Cajun flavored dog food and the second film. Two brothers take opposite directions as adults using The French culture and Cajun language as the foundation for their futures. A holiday visit brings up sibling rivalry and reveals the directions they choose. The third film, _Le Femme de T-boy (T-Boy’s Wife), _revolves around a Cajun man who marries a Texas woman, revealing a clash of the cultures, traditions and the people in the relationship. The interactions of the characters in all of these films is thought provoking. Richard doesn’t tell you what to think, but shows what is happening, allowing the audience to feel and draw their own conclusions.

All are welcome to this donation-suggested event. Richard’s family and friends, those who worked on the films, or helped in any way are especially welcome to come and celebrate Richard’s life through his films.
